KARA’S GREAT WAVE TATTOO

Kara is a close friend of ours and we both share the love for surfing. And when she came to the shop for a cover up tattoo her design idea wasn’t so surprising – it’s the great wave of course! Today Kara tells us what the wave means to her.

“This amazing tattoo by Frances is of a wave that reflects my appreciation for Japanese art, my passion for the sun, sea and surf, my respect for mother nature.

I had been contemplating for quite a while what kind of style wave should have and I was very happy with how Frances thoughtfully visualized and skilfully executed exactly what I wanted. The minute I saw her design, I instantly fell in love with it. The secret behind it, quite literally, is an old tribal-like tattoo I randomly picked off Yahoo way back in college – a reckless attempt for self expression. I saw it covered up, slowly disappearing under the new ink. It has practically vanished now and will be forever hidden under the face of the majestic wave I would never dare ride.”

Thank you sis, glad you liked your tattoo. About the great wave, hey! You’ll surf waves bigger than that in the future! It’s been always awesome whenever we hang out. Cheers to surfing, beer and bacon!
